Cuba truly feels like another world; it’s a country that takes you back in time yet is filled with so much beauty and romance. Jeannemarie Photography and her workshop team have encapsulated the country’s enchanting charm in this gorgeous Havana bridal session, exclusively using our ivory pillar candles, which were also recently featured on the fine art wedding blog, Joy Wed.
Jeanne, the principle photographer, said that despite a huge influx of tourists checking out the street, the charm and romance was still very much present in the culturally rich city. She raved that between the weathered patina colors of buildings, amazing textures, patterned tiles and narrow streets, there’s truly nowhere else like it in the world. The dilapidated buildings and patina on the walls are a photographer's dream of an era lost in time.
Designer and stylist Debbie Hemingway said that traveling to Cuba is like stepping into a time warp to the 1950s and never wanting to come back. Within an hour of landing in Havana, the team was already wandering and exploring the streets in search of the perfect backdrops to style our shoots. The weathered patina colors, textures, patterned tiles and narrow streets were truly unmatched.
Workshop host Matthew Ree added that the workshop had attendees from all over the United States and England for his first photography workshop in Cuba. This was his second trip to Cuba in one year and he noticed several big changes right away. A new terminal in the airport is being built for all the arrivals coming from America and new hotels are also in the works.
Let’s just say we’re already packing our bags to see the historic city for ourselves!
