National Picnic Month: A Posh Picnic

National Picnic Month: A Posh Picnic

July is National Picnic Month, and although, one may not think of a picnic in the park as visually appealing -- complete with a red and white gingham tablecloth and plastic dinnerware -- this farm-to-table elopement shoot featured in JoyWed proves that even a picnic can be totally posh, whimsical and downright gorgeous.

For starters, we love the concept of farm-to-table. The idea of incorporating locally grown or raised food to provide guests with the best quality ingredients in the food they eat is something we are completely on board with. We love to support other local businesses and find that the best quality products and services come from local vendors. So when we saw this Farm-to-Table inspired shoot, featuring our candles on JoyWed, we fell in love! The color palette is warm and inviting, the fruits and cheeses look scrumptions and the backdrop, well, it's perfect too!

Designer Tristan Needham said, "Simple, relatable and loving. This editorial was inspired by nothing other than wanting images of a couple that your clients, friends and family can relate to. An outdoor celebration, inspired by fresh food, and the beautiful wide open spaces that surround their hometown came together beautifully to tell the story of this young couple, who chose to get married in a place that feels like their backyard. We wanted all of the elements to have a sense of home. With the foraged looking florals, to the handmade cake that looks like mom’s favorite recipe, to the table pieces that look like they are straight off of the shelf, or from a china cabinet, we really felt like the homemade, farm-to-table feeling really shined in this elopement created for the attendees of the first ever Ivory+Bliss Workshop, hosted in Cedar Rapids, Iowa."

Our taper candles in Cafe Au Lait perfectly matched the warm/neutral color palette. We’re eager to see more posh picnics and hope this trend catches on! To shop the look featured in this shoot, click here.
