Pillar Candles to Dress Up Your Wedding

Pillar Candles to Dress Up Your Wedding

It’s finally June and it feels like wedding season is in full-swing. As a bride, you want your big day to be the magical affair you always dreamed of as a little girl. Likewise, wedding and event planners want to deliver extraordinary ceremony and reception designs for their clients. In order to produce a high-end look one must incorporate all the bells and whistles to create the perfect scene, which includes setting the mood with candles. Photographer Jose Villa, event planner Laurie Arons and florist Sarah Winward demonstrate how to perfectly incorporate pillar candles into a wedding ceremony at the 2014 Mexico Workshop.

For more than 10 years, Jose Villa has been hosting photography workshops in Mexico where 25 attendees from all over the world learn from Villa and his dream-team of design experts. The creative team includes editors from Martha Stewart Magazine, the owner of Style Me Pretty wedding blog, wedding planners and designers from Duet weddings, Nicolette Camille floral designer and more.

For the ceremony, the team lined the aisle with our classic hurricane pillars in Paris Gray for a whimsical, romantic look. The varied heights add a wow-factor and the subtle greenery complements the pillars beautifully.

The altar was gorgeously illuminated with pillar candles, too. Winward created a flowing garland of greenery that ties in with the leaves in the aisle display. The neutral color palette of creamy grays, natural browns and rich greenery for this ceremony is simply stunning.

For the reception, the team designed an astonishing entrance lined with pillar candles in different heights. The warm glow of candlelight instantly established a romantic mood as guests entered the space to take their seats for dinner.

A mix of pillar and taper candles were used for this banquet-style reception table. Red floral arrangements provided a beautiful contrast against the neutral color palette of the tablescape and rustic feel of the venue.

Three Ways to Update Your Patio for Summer Outdoor Entertaining with Creative Candles

Three Ways to Update Your Patio for Summer Outdoor Entertaining with Creative Candles

You might be ready for summer, but is your patio? Porches, patios, decks and sunrooms are among the best places in your home to spend time in the warmer months. You can also make it your favorite space to entertain guests for summer soireés, barbeques and other get-togethers with just a few upgrades.

One of the top trends for summer 2017 is creating a seamless transition from your home to your outdoor space by borrowing décor from the interior. This means ditching the standard wrought iron patio tables and chairs and furnishing the space with more upscale pieces that look like they were created for the indoors. The patio has truly become an extension of your indoor space, so add some pillar candles to set the mood.

When it comes to outdoor decorating, you can never go wrong with a nautical color scheme. A mix of blues, red and white are not only perfect for patriotic summer holidays such as Memorial Day and the Fourth of July, they also provide a classic look year-round. So even if you’re landlocked, you can bring in the look and feel of a beach home with coastal style, especially with our ball and votive candles.

Perhaps you’re craving to overhaul your space altogether. Designer Laurie Blumenfeld-Russo and her husband, Bob Russo, once pondered buying a weekend place in Connecticut, but instead, they decided to turn the roof of their Brooklyn brownstone into an entertaining oasis. Complete with a restaurant-worthy kitchen, lush greenery, a skyline view of downtown Manhattan and an abundance of seating for entertaining guests, the couple was thrilled with their new gorgeous rooftop patio. As seen on House Beautiful, the dining area features our pillar candles in varying sizes.

Creative Candles Spotted at Flutter Magazine Founder’s Wedding Featured on Style Me Pretty

You know you’re in for a dazzling wedding and reception when the bride is none other than the founder of Flutter Magazine. Paired with a dream team of vendors including photographer Jose Villa, event designer Joy Proctor, floral designer Amy Osaba and the Sunstone Winery and Villa as a venue, this was one drop-dead gorgeous affair. With all this prettiness, where do we start?!

The color palette itself reflected the bride’s style with warm watermelon, coral and sunset tones paired against taupes and creams. To evoke the playful yet elegant aesthetic, the couple used a beautiful watercolor crest designed by Monvoir, complete with florals and butterflies throughout the suite. As guests made their way from the ceremony to the reception, they were invited to find their seating assignments in drawers of an antique dresser which had been filled with moss and flowers and topped with our taper candles in Paris Gray.

The bride and groom were inspired by their special engagement in Tuscany, and it was important to them to have a truly extravagant dinner party, one filled with innovative delights and overflowing with wine, champagne and exquisite service. Our tapers in Paris Gray look modern and chic next to the glasses of rosé.

Let’s talk about this reception setup. Another nod to their Italian engagement, the couple wanted to share an al fresco dining experience with their guests. Florals and greenery adorned the two rows of tables while Tuscan style chandeliers hung down the center. Unique, linen chairs and wooden tables added to the Tuscan look and feel, while artisanal breads, olive oil, fruits and flowers created for a lush, edible tabletop.

By looking closer at the highly detailed tablescape, you’ll notice the gorgeous contrast between the vibrant florals and lush greenery against the neutral wooden table. Our pillar candles complemented the heart-fluttering look perfectly.

We are so excited to announce the availability of four new colors: Saffron, Wisteria, Mint Julep and Wild Poppy! These fun and happy hues are perfect for spring and summer and have arrived just in time for Easter decorating.

Saffron: Inspired by the color of the tip of the saffron crocus thread, from which the saffron spice is derived, this golden yellow looks just like a bright ray of sunshine. Shop now
